Gambling help in Calgary and Alberta
Checked October 8, 2026By the Map Room
Help with gambling problems in Alberta is free, confidential and open around the clock, by phone, text or chat. The lines below work from anywhere in the province, including all nine casinos on this map, from Balzac to Mînî Thnî.
Three places to start
- 211 Alberta is free, confidential and open 24/7: call 211, text INFO to 211, or use its online chat. It can refer people to gambling support.
- The Addiction Helpline, run by Recovery Alberta, answers at 1-866-332-2322. It is free, confidential, open 24/7 and covers problem gambling.
- GameSense Advisors work in every casino and racing entertainment centre in Alberta, alongside a GameSense info centre. GameSense is AGLC's responsible gambling program.
Self-exclusion
Enrolment happens online only, at selfexclusion.ca, through AGLC's Self-Exclusion Program. The first choice is the scope. A person can exclude themselves from Alberta casinos and racing entertainment centres, from regulated online gaming, or from both. Picking both covers the land-based floors and the regulated online sites at the same time.
The second choice is the term: six months, one year, two years or three years. The exclusion starts immediately. It cannot be cancelled early, so the length chosen on the first day is the length that runs. On this map, the casino option covers all nine venues, from Century Downs in Balzac to Stoney Nakoda off Highway 40.
Help in the same building
Every casino on this map, from ACE Casino Airport to Grey Eagle on Tsuut'ina Nation land, has GameSense Advisors and a GameSense info centre on site. The help desk shares a roof with the slots, which makes it the one distance on this site that needs no straight line. A question can be asked there without leaving the building.
This guide carries paid links only on its home page, each marked Ad. Inner pages, this one included, carry none, and links to regulators and help services are not paid.
Questions
Is calling 211 free and private?
It is free and confidential, and 211 Alberta runs 24/7. The same holds for texting INFO to 211 or using its online chat, and it can refer people to gambling support.
Can self-exclusion cover online sites too?
It can, as one of three options. At selfexclusion.ca a person chooses regulated online gaming, Alberta casinos and racing entertainment centres, or both together.
Can I cancel self-exclusion early?
Early cancellation is not possible. The exclusion starts immediately and runs for the full term picked at enrolment: six months, one year, two years or three years. For support during that time, the Addiction Helpline answers at 1-866-332-2322.
